Create For Kata
100% of proceeds will be donated
Thank you for being here! My name is Jeremy South and I run Ripple Mobile Arts. Kata is a loved friend of my family. She was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer in the spring of 2018. Despite a fierce battle including surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, her cancer metastasized to her brain last summer and she recently received a heartbreaking and terminal diagnosis of leptomeningeal disease. Kata is a beloved friend, community member, daughter, sister, wife, and mother. Her friends started a GoFundMe to help her family meet her medical bills and navigate their months ahead. I would like to contribute to this fund through my clay work and teaching. I am offering a day of family studio classes, clay kits, and vases for sale; all money generated through this page will be donated to Kata's GoFundMe. Please see below for details and ways to sign up and support. If you feel moved by Kata's story please also share the link to her GoFundMe page and know that all donations are greatly appreciated.
Family Studio Classes
To sign-up for a family class please click on the link below. All in-person family classes will be held at my studio at 4550 N Central Ave inside Northwood Christian Church. You have the option to create a small remembrance of Kata in clay or you can choose other options listed in the bookings page. Currently, the scheduled date for the donated class sessions will be Sunday, January 31st from 12-6 p.m. 5 time slots are given. If we fill these spots I will look to add another date or two in the future. Please check back from time to time for new updates. Once you book your class you have the option to choose the project. Every clay/glass item will be fired and pick-up arrangements made about 3-4 weeks after the class date.
Receive a clay kit the same as it used to be in the deliveries! These kits include 4 glazes, 5 lbs. of clay, a tennis ball, wire, 3 brushes, etc. All in a file box you can use to store your clay creations. Clay kits will need to be picked up from my home studio in Rocky Ripple and dropped back off to be kiln fired when you are finished creating. You can create your own projects and you are able to take as long as you need to create. I have videos for ideas and instructions for successful projects on my YouTube channel and you are also always free to reach out through email or texting. Each kit has paperwork with guidelines to help facilitate successful projects (e.g., no tiny projects unless they are built on a slab, projects thicker than 2 inches need to be hollowed out or thinned out.). I will be putting out more videos with project ideas over the next several months also.
Pick-up is listed for January 30th from 12-6 p.m. at my home located at 5125 Crown Street, Indianapolis. Details found in the link below. You can purchase more than one kit. Other pickup arrangements can be made, if needed. Please re-order each time you purchase a kit. The kits come up as a book now option when ordering.
